Wasn't sure about Bilic appointment (Although by February this year I was ready to see BFS go)

But it has to be said that by being more attack minded and having a policy of be comfortable and knock it about we have a Plan B or even C that we never had under Allardyce. If we went behind with him we stayed behind.

I have been proved wrong and I am very happy about it.

Only saw the MOTD highlights ...

Seems a good point and good comeback. Going forward we are good at the moment, scoring goals frequently.

The things thats doing us in is the soft goals we are giving away and the amount of times we are losing the ball in our own half handing it to the opposition in dangerous errors.

First goal Jenkinsons fail is plain stupid and the marking atrocious.

3 big games next where we need to pick up 5 points minimum to keep in touch with the top 6

West Ham fans have always . Not a new thing at all.

On a general point people need to understand that on an internet forum you are going to see all kinds of views and it is clear that some on here are simply not able to deal with it. There is no reason to start going off on one just because you see things you don't like. That is not debating that is just full blown toys out of pram stuff. Please desist.

How did we decide to put Dicks in charge, it was a fait accompli, what other option was there?

Best start for years, best away record in the league, one of the top scorers, players with flair and pace and its still not enough for some of the plastic fans on here, Noble is this Bilic that, its an embarrassment, fucking modern entitled fans are shit.

Let's face it Dancer, you would be moaning like a wench whatever happens, and you are nowhere to be seen after a win. But fair enough, you crack on''

So you have now resorted to lying, sums you up. Prick.

Something you really have to bear in mind is the internet is full of attention seekers, trolls, and emotionally unstable folk. None of those are mutually exclusive, and this forum is no exception. If you want intelligent discussion, you have to pick your battles and ignore the dross. Otherwise, you'll drive yourself mad

Re: Sunderland v West Ham - Official Match Thread 2-2 FT
People inc me were rightly angry and upset after the euro exit because in our final season at U.P we qualified for Europe and then the club decided that we'd throw the tie by fielding a 3rd team and putting Dicks in charge.

If you can't understand why fans were upset or the difference between fans being angry at that and kneejerking after one bad result then you are not a real fan.

Descent, there has been nowhere near the vitriol aimed at Bilic that there was put in BFS's direction. Though several people did not care for Bilic on a personal level it's the football that counts at the end of the day and thankfully this Board now reflects that in a sensible and proportionate way.

Was talking to a good mate of mine who is a Mackem, he reckons if Eggnog leaves, he would be happy for Sam to come in and STABILISE the side

Monk, I don't forget what was being written on here before a ball had been kicked in the league, about how Bilic was an embarrassing appointment, we were going down, RIP WEST HAM. We're not talking the odd poster, this board was ablaze with utter fannies. If you think all that was constructive, and the continuation onto the season, then again, fair enough.

Re: Sunderland v West Ham - Official Match Thread 2-2 FT
I guess I was hoping now that we have a manager that people like on a more personal level that we would not have as much complaining. But I guess we just raise expectations and keep going, which at the base of it is not a bad thing, I just learned to express my expectation differently.

It seems we have generally switched focus of criticism to players and individual errors, which to a point is fair. However (and I am trying to discuss something rather than complain but who knows how it comes across) when the individual errors are so widespread (Reid, Jenkinson, Cresswell, Noble even Adrian with his red) that there is something else going on.

It will take time and we need patience but at some point we need a different or a better executed plan for when we need to create something out of nothing rather on the break.

Perspective is key as well. The Ogbonna thing makes me laugh a little. First he was a bad signing that "worried" people before he kicked a ball for us, now he is going come back and save our defence. I think he will a really good player for us, but at this point the truth is somewhere in between.

The Mark Noble thing and how he can't play football at all and that posters could do anything he could another is another. However, in a way it is good because if Mark Noble has taken the Nolan or Carlton Cole role with WHO, then it means we are a better team because he is a better overall player than either of them was (at least in the last couple years they were with us.)

I guess I am learning that to expect a rational response is pretty silly of me as my relationship to West Ham is not that rational either.

Re: Sunderland v West Ham - Official Match Thread 2-2 FT
First half of last season we were not pathetic were we. We were prob a better side than now.

This season is still only 8 games old and Palace and Leicester are right up there. Long way to go yet.
We are currently an odd side who either start well v the better sides away and win or start badly v the weaker sides and then have to come from behind needing to score 2 or 3 to get anything from the game.

We look almost too attacking and open and as others have said we need someone to sit infront of the back 4 and to keep it tight early on in games.
Obiang or Song would be ideal. Hard to work us out though as we have had notable sucessess but also notably look better when we have had Oxford or Obiang sitting deep.

I understand what your saying Eerie and there is a fair bit of moaning for moaning sake. It is an excellent season so far, much better than most expected but nothing wrong with discussing how we can improve. Everyone has their own views on that.

It is bizarre because of the superb away wins but we have dropped points due to individual errors that we shouldn't have done. Natural to feel disappointed about that as is the manager.

I think we have a very good squad and that is better than both Palace and Leicester but they are playing with more conviction at the moment. It is what we need to work on as I am sure we all want improvement whilst recognising there will be games we lose.

Re: Sunderland v West Ham - Official Match Thread 2-2 FT
Eerie - Spin it how you want mate, but you was suggesting that nobody shoud critisize anything, and let's be honest, that's a ridiculous thing to say.

I'm quite sure that everyone is happy with the season to date, but yesterday we were a lick of paint away from going 3-0 down to the bottom side.

I'm glad you aint our manager, you would be in Monday morning saying 'take it easy lads, do what you want, we don't have any areas where we can improve or do better'
